In Memory of Marc Hanson

Our dear colleague, Marc Hanson, tragically passed away on the morning of August 25, 2021. Marc was just 46 years old. He leaves behind his loving wife and two adorable children.

Marc was an exceptional public servant - he believed in the positive role that public service can play in other people's lives and dedicated his life towards helping others. As Chief of Staff for Senator Josh Newman, Marc quickly earned a reputation for being extraordinarily friendly and charming. His kindness, compassion, and enduring cheerful spirit brought out the best in people and put a smile on everyone's face. Marc was more than a colleague for us in the State Legislature, he was also a trustworthy confidant, an inspiring mentor, and a dear friend.

In honor of his memory and to support his family during this time, we have a created a dedicated Gofundme page for the State Capitol community and all those who have worked with Marc in the past to remember him and pay tribute to the values and traditions of public service.
