Help Innersight Aid the Disabled
Donation protected
Located in Islip, New York, Innersight is a nonprofit organization committed to providing advocacy for the disabled, both locally and globally. We are owned and operated by a group of motivated disabled individuals, and have been making changes in the community and supporting disabled individuals for more than 25 years. Innersight was founded on the belief that the disabled deserve to enjoy all that the world has to offer, from simple everyday activities, such as visiting a coffee shop, to physically demanding sports. Innersight’s ultimate hope and goal is to make everything and everywhere accessible to those who are disabled, no matter what the disability. One of our goals is to help fund urgently needed medical and health services for people with disabilities who are in need of financial support.

Suzanne's Story
For 27 years, Innersight volunteer Suzanne has suffered from a debilitating condition that has left her visually and hearing impaired, and with severe nervous system damage. Up until this point, doctors have not been able to determine what is causing her body’s overall progressive deterioration. Currently Suzanne is in need of a new bed and mattress, a power wheelchair to help her get around, and medical treatment.
Alexandra's Story
Alexandra is totally blind, as is her husband, and they have two little girls. She is trying to raise money for stem cell research to restore her vision, but she can’t afford the surgery or the trip to Arizona where the surgeon is located.
Geraldine's Story
Geraldine is physically and mentally disabled and she is on the verge of homelessness. She is in desperate need of funds that will enable her to rent a room, purchase a phone, and receive medical treatment.
Regina-Carol's Story
Regina-Carol is our etiquette advocate. She is diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and is in a wheelchair. After the recent loss of her husband of 34 years, Regina-Carol has very little help. Her condo needs renovations and she is desperate for a new wheel chair.
Michelle's Story
Michelle is legally blind and lives in a nursing home. She is physically able to live on her own in an apartment, but doesn't have the funds to do so. We are trying to help her get her freedom back.
Robin's Story
Robin is our oldest advocate. She is diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease and is in desperate need of an accessible van. Her wheelchair ramp in front of her house is broken and needs renovations.
Helen's Story
Helen tunes in to our radio station every night to share her experiences and offer support to others. She needs a walker with a seat- a cost of about $150.
Regina's Story
Regina has been denied a service dog TWICE. Innersight is helping to fund her application process.
