Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Strangers,
With hearts heavier than we ever imagined possible, we find ourselves reaching out for support and care for our beloved Christopher.
Recently, Christopher’s world, and ours, was turned upside down when he was rushed to the hospital. On Feb. 27th at 5:02 AM, I was alerted to theft in progress by my surveillance cameras.
Christopher walked outside to see what was going on and possibly scare off the car thieves and was shot in the abdomen.
Christopher was shot once and HIT seven times. The only showcasing that was found at the scene was a 9 mm. Ballistics said that it fragmented and hit him seven times- which caused extensive internal damage- four injuries to the abdomen, the groin, the hip, and the neck.
He had emergency surgery. Unfortunately, the doctors were not able to remove the bullet.
The doctors informed us that he was very lucky to survive such a traumatic ordeal and will have a long road to recovery marking the beginning of an incredibly tough and unforeseen battle.
With every ounce of his remarkable strength and bravery, Christopher is fighting.
The path to recovery stretches far ahead of his, requiring lots of care. The weight of this position extends beyond the emotional and physical; it bears down upon us financially.
With mounting medical bills, the necessities of after care, all while the regular flow of life's expenses continue.
Why Your Support Is Invaluable:
Medical Bills: No Health insurance, the lack in coverage leaves us facing significant expenses for treatments and medication's once he’s released from the hospital, which are essential to Christopher’s recovery and after care.
Supporting Christopher during this difficult time means being away from work, adding to the financial pressures we face.
The list goes on...
Every donation, no matter its size, will go directly towards easing these burdens, allowing us to devote our energy and resources to Christopher’s healing.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers to give him the strength for recovery. Sharing this campaign far and wide also offers invaluable support, helping us reach hearts and hands that might lift us in our time of need.
With all love and deepest gratitude,
Elaine Ovalle-Perez and Family
UPDATE:
They removed and stitched four sections of Christopher’s intestines. On Wednesday, he was in excruciating pain so they performed a CT Scan and X-Ray. The test discovered that one of the incisions was leaking. He had to have another emergency surgery to resolve this issue. He now has a Nasogastric Tube A nasogastric tube (NG tube) medical catheter that was inserted through his nose into his stomach to draw substances out and a catheter.
