Innocent young family seeking safety - Gazan plea
Donation protected
Hello Friends,
I am Mohammed, 38 years old, an occupational therapist and mental health activist from Gaza. I am writing to you talking about the most difficult and horror situation a man can live in. Since the 7th of October, my pregnant wife, my two years old daughter, and I evacuated our house because the war has begun and threatened the area I live in the East of Gaza.
Our house was destroyed and we have lost many of our friends and relatives. Since that we have been living a continuous nightmare, we had to move several times because of the continuous shelling and bombing on all Gaza. After a week we moved to the south, the place that supposed to be safe. We still there struggling to find any food or bread while clean water became a luxury. Each two people sleep on one mattress under the constant sounds of bombing everywhere all the time feeling our turn is next.
Me, and my family forced to evacuate again to Rafah a month ago and stay in a tent for a week which was the worst week in our lives. After that I decided to move to the middle zone and now, I am staying in my friend house with tens of people who forced to evacuate their houses like us.
No words can describe what we lived and still living. I can't stop thinking of my pregnant wife who was in her second month of pregnancy and now she is in her seventh month. All the last months with no nutrition, no medical facilities, and no basic needs for her and or her baby birth, while finding milk and diapers for my daughter become impossible.
My wife and me have made the decision to leave Gaza and look for a life elsewhere. The decision not just to seek safety and protection and my wife doesn't have to deliver her baby under bombing, but also because there is no hope the war is over. With all the destruction of houses, hospitals and medical facilities, schools and universities, and whole city infrastructure there is no future left for us or for our children here.
We set a plan to stay in Egypt several months until the delivery of my pregnant wife and so we can apply for another country's visa. We don't have a clear vision where to go, but the most important now is to leave Gaza and be safe.
We need your assistance and support to do that soon before we have been killed or injured. People trying to get out of Gaza are being forced to pay thousands of dollars, 5 thousand at least per person.
We need your assistance to help us raise funds to cover the costs of evacuating Gaza, staying in Egypt for a few months, and traveling and resettlement in another country at least for the first three months.
Thank you for considering this campaign and for sharing it with your friends. I hope we can achieve the goal before it’s too late. I will keep you updated as much as possible.
Yours faithfully,
Mohammed
