The YWCA of Southern Arizona is on a mission for women and girls.
YWCA National and Arizona State University are partnering to bring Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) efforts to our region and we, in Southern Arizona, want to do our part.
In keeping with our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women, the YWCA Southern Arizona is partnering with STEM educators, STEM serving organizations and professional women's groups to provide community learning opportunities for girls in Southern Arizona.
To start 2017 with positive and motivational efforts, we are partnering with Harkins Theaters Spectrum 18 to screen Hidden Figures for 179 girls. This feature film premieres January 13th in Tucson. HIDDEN FIGURES is the incredible untold story of Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson -brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history.
