Has a book ever changed your life? Can you remember the first time you read a book that really impacted you?
The 2nd through 5th grades at A. Montoya Elementary are reading "The Wild Robot" together this year through an online platform that allows their librarian, Ms. Harris, to read it to them as they read along. The sequel to this book, entitled, "The Wild Robot Escapes", is one of those books that will absolutely change the reader's life. It answers questions like, "What's REALLY important?", "What should I do with my time?", and so much more.
In a year where there has been so much isolation and difficulty, we believe it's more important than ever to bring our students together through the shared experience of reading. We would LOVE to end this year on a high note by gifting all of the students who read Peter Brown's first Wild Robot book with the sequel to read over the summer. We believe that they will be touched and inspired, and will feel a greater sense of community and belonging as they read this book "with" their peers.
You can inspire a love of reading, a desire to extend compassion, and an almost school-wide experience by purchasing a book or 2. One book costs $6.74 through the school's supplier. The student who receives your book will receive a gift that gives long after they are finished reading it!
