Install Muncie's 1st Syringe Drop Box!
Tax deductible
We are happy to announce that through a grant from Aspire Health, Muncie will host a new Syringe Disposal Box that will help community members safely dispose of used needles and other sharps.
Bringing this box to Muncie is vital to improving community safety outcomes as people at the greatest risk of being stuck by improperly discarded needles include 1st responders such as EMTs and police officers, sanitation and sewage treatment workers, and neighborhood children. (more information on disposal boxes can be found here: https://www.epa.gov/sites/default/files/2016-02/documents/med-govt_0.pdf)
This box will be installed on the property at Friends Memorial Church at 418 W. Adams Street, alongside a community Naloxone distribution box.
The ACDC, in collaboration with Recovery Cafe' Muncie, is requesting pledges from community partners to cover a $500 installation fee that will be used to pour the slab of cement for installation of the Syringe Disposal Box.
