Insulin for my Type 1 Diabetic Mom
Donation protected
My mom was diagnosed with type 1 (juvenile) diabetes when she was 19 years old. She’s lived with this disease for so long and now our insurance is charging her over $2000 per 90-day supply of insulin. She works two low-paying two jobs to provide for our family of 4 and most of that money goes to electric, water, and mortgage bills and food. Because she cannot afford to buy her insulin, she has been rationing it out to make it last longer which can be life-threatening. She cannot live without her insulin because her pancreas produces none.
