Insulin Pump for T1D
Hello Everyone! As you know, I have had Type 1 Diabetes since I was 8 years old. It's a daily battle to keep my blood sugars within range and such a pain in the ass to prick my finger 4+ times a day along with 5+ insulin injections. So I am taking the plunge in creating a healthier, more fulfilling life with Diabetes by getting on an insulin pump.
This device will help keep my numbers within range, which will not only help me feel better each day but also help prevent complications with my eyes, kidneys, heart, etc. I will no longer have to inject myself or check my blood sugars. This is literally an external pancreas, doing everything a "normal" person would get from their pancreas.
The costs to maintain my diabetes isn't cheap. Monthly expenses for insulin, test strips, needles, etc can really add up. Same thing goes for getting the pump- it is covered under insurance but still have a hefty out-of-pocket cost in order to obtain it. The $1,500 I am asking for is to help cover the cost of the pump, my sensor (which will monitor my blood glucose during the day) & my first 90 days of supplies. Anything received over the total cost will be donated to the JDRF organization.
Please help support me in living a healthier, long life & contributing to a great cause until we can find a cure. Thank you!!
