Interlude - A STAR TREK Fan Production

Spende geschützt

PLEASE NOTE: INTERLUDE is now fully funded!  The donor list has been incorporated into the closing credits, so no additional donor names will be added.

A FAN FILM OF A FAN FILM?  YES!!!

Prelude to Axanar  ended on a cliff-hanger...the D7 had just entered the war.  But what happened next?

INTERLUDE begins seconds after Prelude ends and forms a bridge (no pun intended!) to the events that will happen in Alec Peters’ two Axanar sequel fan films.  INTERLUDE is an exciting vignette story that shows fans whom those D7s were shooting at, and why those targets were so important.  The story is about honor and sacrifice, bravery and duty in the face of a surprise sneak attack that leaves no time to plan or react with anything other than one's true self.

INTERLUDE takes place in the “Axanar Universe,” but it is completely separate from any film being made by Axanar Productions--different cast, different crew, different funding.  The only thing the two productions will share is Alec Peters playing Garth and the use of the amazing bridge set at Ares Studios in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

THE PRODUCTION TEAM

Jonathan Lane (writer and executive producer) – the blogger responsible for FanFilmFactor.com, Jonathan has been covering Star Trek fan films and their creators in depth since 2015.  He appeared in a Star Trek fan film all the way back in 1999.  In 2016, he co-wrote, co-produced, and provided voices for the animated puppet parody STALLED TREK: Prelude to Ax’d-We-Are.  He wrote the first Axanar spin-off short story, “Why We Fight,” and his Axanar comic book story “Stardate 2245.1” is the basis for INTERLUDE.

Victoria Fox and Joshua Irwin (producer and co-directors) – Victoria and Joshua both work professionally in the entertainment industry in Arkansas and know the craft well.  They have completed two (and are working on a third) Star Trek fan films in the "Avalon Universe," the first of which, Ghost Ship, won four BJO Awards at the 2019 Treklanta convention, including best dramatic presentation.

Mark Edward Lewis (sound-mixer) – Mark did the sound-mixing for Prelude to Axanar and will also be working on the upcoming Axanar sequels.  He has access to all of the Prelude sound effects, which will help make INTERLUDE sound like it’s definitely a part of the Axanar Universe.

Kevin Croxton (composer) - In 2018, Kevin wrote and directed the musical Star Trek fan film The Bunny Incident with his fourth and fifth grade music students.  He is also an Emmy winner...seriously!  Kevin is a huge Star Trek fan and is bursting with excitement to create music for INTERLUDE that that feels like Star Trek but is also 100% original.

Lewis Anderson (visual effects) - A CGI professional, Lewis is a huge fan of Axanar and is doing our VFX as a favor and a labor of love.  His skill in composing space battle shots is phenomenal, and he's eager to play around with Ares-class starships and Klingon D7s.

BUDGET

The Star Trek fan film guidelines preclude a production from paying participants, and we fully intend to follow all guidelines.  But there are still costs that cannot be avoided for things like travel and lodging, equipment rental, wardrobe and costumes, and food for the actors and crew while filming.

For a detailed explanation of all our budget line items, please read the following blog entry…

Budget blog for INTERLUDE

SCHEDULE

Currently, our plan is to film in November 2019 for a release in the first half of 2020.  However, that is dependent upon this crowd-funding campaign reaching its goal before the end of this summer.  If it takes longer than that, production could potentially need to be delayed.  So please help us reach our goal quickly.

PERKS

Um, well...the fan film guidelines do not allow for perks.  And as stated above, we intend to follow the guidelines to the letter.  And anyway, physical perks cost money to create and mail.  We'll probably make every donor a nice desktop wallpaper and send you a PDF of the comic book version of this story.  But physical perks won't be available...sorry.

That said, if we exceed our goal by enough to afford to mail something nice to our donors, you might all get a thank you gift...which is not a perk (since there's no expectation of receiving anything, especially if we don't take in enough donations).

Also, every donor will get their name in the credits, and the higher the donation, the bigger the name!  Here's the donation levels and ranks...

Ensign – donate up to $10
Lieutenant – $11-$50
Lieutenant Commander – $51-$100
Commander – $101-$250
Captain – $251-$500
Commodore – $501-$1000
Admiral – $1001-$2500
Associate Producer – $2501 and up
(no Fleet Captain…that rank’s reserved for Garth!)

And all Associate Producers will be invited to join us at Ares Studios in Georgia for filming (travel and lodging not included).

And finally, for the backer who gives us the BIGGEST donation, their name will be written on the side of a paper coffee cup that will be placed awkwardly in the background of one scene of our film.  (Yes, that's a totalGame of Thrones reference.  And if you want, we can even make sure to misspell your name...just like they do at Starbucks!)

NO MONEY GOING TO AXANAR PRODUCTIONS

This is a promise.  All monies raised for INTERLUDE will go to INTERLUDE, and any surplus (if there is enough) will be used for a thank you gift(s) for donors.  If there is significant money left over beyond that, it will be deposited into a bank account to be used for a future non-Axanar Productions fan film set within the Axanar Universe.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!!

Did we mention how much we truly and sincerely APPRECIATE your support?  Well, we do!  A LOT!!!  Quite simply, we can't make this film this without backers who share our dream and believe in our team enough to help fund us.

So whether you give $1 or $100 (or $1,000 or $10,000...hey, we can dream, can't we?), you will be our hero!  Klingons will sing songs of your generosity and greatness (just not in this fan film...no singing Klingons).  Your name will be remembered and honored for as long as there is a YouTube and a a Vimeo.

In other words, thank so much for donating...or at least helping us to spread the link for this campaign.  You rock like Spock!!!
