Chess for Internally Displaced Children in Nigeria

Hi, help Vivian Ibrahim, The Gift of chess global ambassador for Nigeria and I raise funds for our Chess in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp program. Internally Displaced Children (IDP kids) are children that were forced to leave their homes due to insurgency in North East Nigeria, QueenVee Chess Academy Yola, Created in 2021 an organization using the game of chess to help these children through situations of uncertainty, to give them access to quality education, to occupy their minds in a positive way & to give them access to opportunities in life. We have about 7 IDP camps in Adamawa State alone, with over 500 displaced kids in each of these camps and we have IDP camps in almost all the 19 states in Northern Nigeria.

We are currently trying to other young chess players outside their IDP camp and also to give them quality education through scholarships.

And we have been able to enroll 11 of them into secondary school.

Our Goal:

QueenVee Chess Academy Chess for Internally Displaced Kids is completely run by volunteers. We are pleading for your generous donations to help achieve our goal and to keep our mission moving.

We need more funding for scholarships, sponsorship to competitions, clothes and relief materials. Our vision is to get these children back to schools and help them gain access to more opportunities in life. Research on Improving Systems Of Education (RISE) revealed that around 10.5 million children aged 5 to 14 years are out of school in Nigeria. It added that approximately 50 per cent of these children reside in the northern region, heavily impacted by the insurgency. So far, we have been able to train over 100 children in one of the IDP camps. With your support, we can be able to achieve a lot more and help give these kids a better life.
