Introducing our Patron - Gabby Logan

We are very excited that Gabby Logan has agreed to become the Patron of both the Festival and the Club, stating ‘’The Club has achieved so much already in such a short space of time, and it is such an exciting time to be getting involved, with the club about to host the International Football Festival in August 2024, bringing together children with Cerebral Palsy from all around Europe .”
Gabby Logan is also currently a patron of the Disabilities Trust and Great Ormond Street Hospital, a charity that has directly supported, and transformed the lives of many players at the Club. She is committed to helping children with Cerebral Palsy – as are we.

Background
This is a story of bringing friendship, hope and laughter and a little bit of magic, to young people with Cerebral Palsy.
Here in Somerset, we have been running a safe and successful Cerebral Palsy Football Club for 4 years. Originally the vision of one football coach parent, Bob Young (recently awarded FA Coach of the Year – Disability Pathway 2023) and through dedicated parental and volunteer support, we have been able to give these young boys and girls some weekly fun, which in turn supports their physical and emotional challenges. We started with 6 young people, we now have 36 and the numbers are still growing. We play competitive fixtures and have been able to attend some international tournaments. Each one of these events brings untold joy to these kids – some fresh from surgery will still be included in matches, for example bringing on the match ball from the safety of a wheelchair. It is very special!
We are so indebted to the kind and generous people who support all the funding-raising activity for our club. This support has enabled us to accept some very special invitations to tournaments abroad, which have made lifetime memories for our young teams. While funding of our Cerebral Palsy Football Club is always an ongoing challenge, with your help with this campaign, we aim to put Cerebral Palsy Football on the map with the largest ever European CP Festival. Please know that our young people and their parents are working hard to achieve this target too, with numerous fund-raising activities in progress.
