International Midwifery Placement - March 2024

Hi Everyone,

I have started this gofundme to raise money for a once in a lifetime opportunity. During the 2nd year of our degree we're lucky enough to experience a two week overseas elective midwifery placement. The purpose is to experience and observe maternity services in healthcare settings outside of the NHS and I'm told it is very eye-opening in some countries. We can choose a European placement or further away such as Africa and Asia. I'd love the latter for the diverse culture and the opportunity to get to experience excursions during our downtime.

Myself and a few friends in my cohort hope to plan some upcoming events to raise money like bake sales, family day activities and a raffle, and maybe even a car wash! Equally if any businesses would like to sponsor me that would be fantastic!

As you can imagine finances have been pretty tight over the last two years with me juggling full time education, family life and no stable personal income so I've created this fundraising page in the hope that I can raise enough money to make this dream trip possible. I totally appreciate that not everyone has as much disposable income as we did a couple of years ago because everything has gone up but if you give just a little it all adds up and you'd make me a VERY happy Gabby.
