Internet for remote Maroon schools in Jamaica

Donation protected
This is Blix,

For just $50 per month, we can bring the Internet to remote schools in Jamaica. Can you imagine teaching and learning without the Internet? No, that's why when StarLink came to Jamaica in the fall of 2022, I saw an opportunity to improve lives.

In March 2023, I went to Trelawny-Flagstaff Maroon Community Jamaica and installed the 1st ever Star Link satellite system for a school in Jamaica. Now The Vaughansfield Primary School has Internet, and our organization The Respect Foundation, can begin remote tutoring. We were guests of Chief Micheal Grizzle, the leader of the Trelawny-Flagstaff Maroon Community, and attended the independent's celebration. As an honored guest, I gave a speech thanking them for excepting us into the community and allowing us to establish cultural exchanges. Please check out The Respect Foundations website

In the 21st century, the maroons in Jamaica are, to a small measure, autonomous and detached from Jamaican culture. The isolation used to their advantage by their ancestors has resulted in their communities being amongst the most inaccessible on the island. They have held these lands since the 1739–1740 treaties with the British.

Please consider supporting the mission to bring the Internet to remote schools throughout Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean.

Sincerely
