Intersections -- An Art Event on Berkeley Paths
Do you ever find your thoughts wandering to big ideas while you walk outdoors? Ever feel inspired in natural environments? Maybe see things a little differently? Wonder about the history of a place?
During the month of September, the Berkeley Path Wanderers Association is partnering with five local artists and the tireless enthusiasm of Hadley Dynak from creative consultancy PEAK86 to host an art event called Intersections on several of the paths surrounding Live Oak and Codornices parks. The temporary works consider the many points of connection that exist in our community, with the paths as canvas.
The event had originally been scheduled for May; we are excited to reschedule and grateful to the artists for their flexibility. We’re planning several small guided walks throughout the month-long event to share details about the artwork and the artists’ inspiration. Details will be posted on our website closer to the dates.
We’ve received two small grants from the Berkeley Civic Arts and Awesome Without Borders for the project, but need a bit more money to realize its full potential. Will you help?
Our fundraising goal is $4,000. We’re looking to our community to help us pay artists, print materials, and get the word out. Join us to activate some of the paths with temporary art! All supporters will receive an invite to a hosted walk-through of the installations.
We’re excited about the opportunity to catalyze conversation and reflection about connection through art. We’d love you to be part of making it happen. Donations of all levels make a difference and all donations are tax deductible.
