Help fund Skysail Theatre's newest production "Interstellar Song Contest"!

Skysail Theatre is small, local theatre company based in Asheville, NC, and we are thrilled to be back with a new production set to premier at the Asheville Fringe Arts Festival in March 2024. We are currently raising funds to cover production costs for the premier of this show, as well as future productions!

You contributions will help fund:

About the show:

A futuristic evolution of the well-known singing competition “Eurovision Song Contest,” the Interstellar Song Contest is a riveting competition between singers with otherworldly talents. In this intergalactic showdown, the final five performers have come together from across the stars to compete for first place, showcasing their vast array of talents in different musical genres. Will a lilting space folk tune in alien tongue take the crown, or will a soaring ballad depicting star-crossed lovers garner the most votes?

This show will feature five original songs of varying genres, each performed by a stellar singer of alien origins. Audience members will be able to cast their votes during the show and determine the winner, which will be announced by the host at the end of the performances. Attendees will be delighted by the glitz, glam, and star power only found at the grand finale of the Interstellar Song Contest!

About the company:

Skysail Theatre tells thoughtful, provocative, and entertaining stories centered around LQBTQ themes through live performance art. In 2022 the company premiered its award-winning first work, an original musical titled "Tithonia: A Lesbian Opera,” which toured the US Fringe festival circuit. Skysail Theatre creates interdisciplinary and collaborative works by blending music, theatre, movement, circus, and everything in between.
