Intervale Community Farm Cooperative
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Mieko Ozeki and I am a current member of the ICF Board of Directors. On behalf of the Intervale Community Farm Cooperative, we created this fundraiser page to accept donations by credit card and to financially support ICF's ability to help retain their talented staff and fund cleanup and restoration efforts.
Intervale Community Farm sustained catastrophic flooding Tuesday (July 11th) and Wednesday (July 12th) this week, engulfing 99% of the Farm, the worst disaster of our 34 years. We’ve lost many crops. A few crops may recover, but it is too soon to tell. Our farmer neighbors suffered similar fates. Due to the valiant effort of ICF staff and 30-40 community volunteers on Monday, they harvested and stored thousands of pounds of produce for CSA distribution over the next few weeks. Some of ICF's crops may recover, though it is too soon to tell.
The ICF staff and board are continually evaluating the impact of this flood on the Farm for the remainder of the season and beyond. We value how Intervale Community Farm feeds our community delicious organic vegetables, sustaining all of us while donating many tons of fresh produce. We are also proud employers of some of the smartest, friendliest, and hardest working people anywhere. The ICF team put their bodies and minds into growing our food day in and day out, year after year, laboring through heat, cold, rain, mosquitoes, floods, and even a pandemic. With the extensive flooding, we have a special concern for their well-being. ICF's staff are essential to the Farm's recovery and resiliency.
Please help ICF in its recovery efforts. These funds will help the Farm immediately in the short term while it waits for insurance, state and federal disaster grants, and as well as local farm relief funds to kick in over the next few months. Funds will go toward retaining ICF staff through the season, supplies and services for clean up and restoration, and efforts to grow and distribute farm fresh food for as long as possible this year. We will share updates on the state of the farm here and on the ICF website.
$5, $10, $20, $50, $100, etc. - Every dollar counts and will go a long way. Thank you for your support.
