Intimacy - A Short Film

Donation protected
THE STORY
The fire crackles inside Juliet’s cozy apartment as snow continues to collect outside. It’s quiet aside from the wind whistling outside the windows...
The front door creaks open, as a tenacious Juliet enters, followed by a hesitant Vikki taking in the sudden warmth of the apartment for the first time. They’ve just met tonight, but already a connection has been made. The two couldn’t be more different, yet they both seek the same thing: a lover to keep them warm in the brittle winter of New York. Someone they can trust, someone who will understand them.
Get comfortable. The night is still young, and Vikki and Juliet still have some shocking things to learn about each other.
Intimacy is a film about love; it is also a horror film.

WHY THIS STORY
The relationship between these two characters delicately encapsulates something young adults commonly experience with one another- a fear or intimacy, a longing to not feel so alone, and the question of what they will put up with from others before deciding a situation is too overwhelming, or even too dangerous. Love may be beautiful, but it is also horrifying. And this project will explore that in depth.

WHERE THE FUNDS WILL GO
With your generous contribution to this project, we will ensure that all funds go toward bringing the trippy visuals to life, and toward paying our extremely talented and hardworking cast/crew of young professional artists. The money fundraised here will go toward props, set dressing, SFX makeup, and food for the cast/crew!

CAST AND CREW

Katie Weinstein - Vikki
Katie Elle Weinstein is an independent artist currently based in Princeton, New Jersey as well as Brooklyn, New York.
Her interest lies in genre-bending, thought-provoking art that uncovers our humanity and expands our capacity for empathy. When creating, she tends to gravitate towards the mediums of film and theatre where she has acted in, wrote, and directed a number of pieces.

Brandi McKinnon - Juliet
Brandi McKinnon is a creative powerhouse. A director, multi media artist, poet, as well as actor originally hailing out of Florida. She is currently finishing up her final year at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with a BFA in Filmmaking.
Most of her work combines elements of twisted surrealism with elements of dance and movement alongside demented characters, often baked into a glorious lo-fi aesthetic.

Still from the first read-through of Intimacy.

Robindeep Singh - Director of Photography
Robindeep Singh hails out of New Jersey, where he started his passion for still photography. He captures his subjects like no other, leaning into the imperfections of film to create a haunted, surreal, yet romantic view of the world no matter how dark it seems. As a filmmaker, he puts story and character above all when deciding just where to put a light or frame up the shot.
Singh recently moved to Brooklyn where he continues capturing film, recently releasing his first photography book.

She thrives off of anything in the industry having to do with horror, haunts and thrillers.
