Int'l HOSA Competition for future EMT Firefighter

Hi, my name is Debbie, and I am a middle school science teacher. Now, I am raising money to help my son get to the International HOSA Competition this summer in Nashville, Tenn. Ryan has dreamed of being a help to society as a firefighter since he was a toddler. Now he is fixing to graduate high school in a couple of weeks. In April, he placed first in Life Saving Skills. Success is a feat; he has a learning disability and has an IEP. He has worked hard for all that he has accomplished. However, it is his niche, and he excels.

He started working on his goals from an early age. He joined the Civil Air Patrol when he turned 12 and became the squadron safety officer. He guided the cadets and the adults in what it takes to remain safe at activities and in various situations. Ryan was accepted into the Medical Magnet at Coral Reef Senior High, and although academics were a struggle with his learning disability, he succeeded in the medical program. He went on to win many awards competing in HOSA competitions.

Now I need help getting him to his last competition for high school. Next, he will get his EMT and be on his way to saving lives. I need to get him to Nashville, and we live in Miami. It is a long drive, and the costs are a bit high. I will use the funds to help get us there and pay for the hotel, gas and food. This trip is essential because all his life people told him he could not make it and that his disability excluded him from many activities and chances. Despite the nay sayers, he for his calling at a young age, and no matter what anyone would say, he stayed on course and has succeeded. He needs to see that no one can stop you if you have the drive for it. I just need help make that happen. I will pay it forward.
