This page has been set up to raise funds for a fellow Police colleague who suffered a massive heart attack while on duty on Wednesday August 16th 2017.
Investigator Josh Landreth with the Jonesboro Police Department Street Crimes Unit was assisting another agency with the apprehension of a wanted felony fugitive from which a foot pursuit ensued. Investigator Landreth was able to chase down and apprehend the suspect after a physical altercation. Investigator Landreth was able to take the wanted fugitive into custody, he then suffered a massive heart attack (widow maker) and was air lifted to a local hospital. He underwent emergency lifesaving surgery. If Investigator Landreth had been transported by ground ambulance, he most likely would not have survived. During the surgery, Investigator Landreth received two stints and is fully recovered and back to serving his community.
Due to the heart attack happening on duty, a workman’s comp claim was filed. Workman’s Comp denied the claim, stating that this was not an injury sustained during the line of duty and that it was a pre-existing condition. An appeal was filed and denied as well. Investigator Landreth has medical bills and expenses in excess of $40,000.00 due to the lifesaving medical flight and treatment. Investigator Landreth gives his all to the community to serve and protect and help make his city a better and safer community. Any little amount will go a long way to helping Investigator Landreth out.
