Invest in the Future of Art Music, CAMPGround22, Contemporary Art Music Project
Founded by pianist Eunmi Ko and composers Benjamin D. Whiting and Alex Shanafelt, the Contemporary Art Music Project (CAMP) is an emerging organization that aims to promote innovative art music through collaboration with living composers and performing artists from around the world. Our ambitious mission is matched by our ambitious projects. CAMP presents an expansive range of programs, including commissioning projects, educational institutes, podcasts, and concerts: our vision is boundless. Our goal is to become a hub of art music, music education, interdisciplinary projects, and performances of the highest quality.

In pursuit of our mission, we are hosting our inaugural festival CAMPGround22, scheduled from March 24th to 26th, 2022, in the vibrant downtown areas of Tampa and St. Petersburg, Florida. We are partnering with local art organizations, like the Morean Center and the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, to present multiple public concerts of new compositions for small and large ensembles, soloists, and electronics. These concerts will feature music by selected composers from our Call for Works. We envision CAMPGround22 to be a collaborative platform for a broad spectrum of aesthetics, allowing artists of all backgrounds to share their creativity. We will also be inviting soloists and chamber musicians chosen from our Call for Performers who will join our CAMP22 performing artists, including Melody Chua, Arda Cabaoglu, Doug O’Connor, Katherine Weintraub, Zach Hale, Eunmi Ko, Jamie Jordan, Sini Virtanen, Carol Tsai, Kevin von Kampen, and the McCormick Percussion Ensemble.

We are asking YOU to help us bring this festival to life!

As a new, startup organization, we solely depend on donations and ticket sales to help realize our ambitions for next year. The funds that we receive will be used to:
1) pay performers who will be traveling both within the US and internationally (Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Turkey, and others!)
2) cover venues and insurance costs.
3) pay for equipment rentals, such as a PA system and piano.
4) compensate videographers and audio engineers.
5) provide event transportation for composers and performers.
6) market and promote the concerts.

By donating to our campaign, you are sustaining and growing the world of modern music and contemporary arts. We hope that you stay connected with us to see how your contribution is helping composers, performers, and students from around the world.
