InVisions Theft Recovery Fund
Our 3 week run through the UK & Europe in August was mostly a success. However, you may have already heard that myself (Josh) and our Tour Manager Mike were robbed of our personal possessions on August 21st before the show in Milan, Italy. We both had to complete the remaining 10 days of the tour without any such home comforts. Among many things, I lost my car keys, games console and watch gifted by my fiance. Mike lost his Macbook Pro including all his production software and unreleased GOTK/Axewound demos. They even took Mike’s suitcase and wash bag leaving him with only the clothes he was wearing that day.
For those who may not be aware, touring is incredibly hard and financially taxing. There are 6 of us sleeping across the seats of a van in 30 degree heat, we go days without showering, we hold our breath for some warm food at the next venue and in Mike’s case drive hundreds of miles a day. In these situations, the only things that keep you going are the personal items that distract you from the road and remind you of home, be it electronic devices or items of priceless sentimental value. To have these taken away makes the experience 100% more difficult.
We reported the theft to the Italian authorities immediately, however, their lack of cooperation has created more problems than it solved.
I've never previously asked for support of this nature but in the current circumstances I see no other way to help replace the lost items whilst also funding the bands activity and gear replacements sustained during touring.
Mike and I wholeheartedly thank anyone who is willing to contribute or has taken the time to pass on kind words. This kind of thing is becoming way too common for touring bands and is extremely disheartening when you're putting everything you have into trying to pursue a career in music.
Much love
