WHERE?
Inwood Hill Park is situated in a neighborhood most New Yorkers know all too well as the "hidden jewel" of North Manhattan. The breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural history of the park are incomparable, and offering live jazz music in this unique outdoor "venue" is a no-brainer.

WHY?
Our Inwood Jazz Festival promises to be a dynamic event that celebrates the culturally rich heritage of our community and showcases the beauty of our public park. We also believe the IJF will be a valuable contribution to the cultural life of Inwood, Inwood Hill Park and NYC.
1) Bringing this exciting new cultural offering to Inwood and thereby highlighting this vibrant (yet sometimes overlooked) part of NYC will benefit both visitors and residents and enrich the community, and the city in more ways than one. Whether it's the economic, cultural, or even educational benefit - there are only upsides to this idea!
2) The IJF will be another way to support and engage local businesses, many of whom are still recovering from economic blows handed to them by the pandemic, as well as provide high-quality and accessible jazz performances to the public for free, which showcases the talent and diversity of the local jazz scene.
3) With the IJF, we will be adding another new platform for all the jazz artists in NY, who have lost so many venues during shutdowns, and with them - their livelihoods.
4) It will attract new audiences and visitors, and foster social cohesion, intergenerational dialogue, and cultural exchange among the park's diverse communities while raising awareness and appreciation of Inwood Hill Park's natural beauty and ecological value.
5) This event will allow the local community (families and youth in particular), to experience first-hand, and in their very own "backyard", the magnificent power and beauty of the American classical art form - JAZZ.
New York's jazz clubs, while admirable staples of our City, tend to be unattainable to youngest New Yorkers, either due to cost or the "bedtime" incompatibilities (parents will know what we mean here!)
HOW?
We would like to invite those of you who have contributed to consider telling your friends, family and business colleagues about our cause to encourage support from others. Additionally, we would like to appeal to any potential new donors who may be interested in supporting our mission. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated, as they go a long way.
Your contribution will help cover the costs of organizing and promoting the festival. These costs include hiring musicians and sound equipment, printing flyers and posters, advertising on social media and local media outlets, obtaining permits and insurance, and providing security and sanitation services.
We ask for your continued support by sharing this campaign far and wide with as many people as you can and telling them to contribute too!
With your help, we can take the first step toward making this event a reality. Please pitch in and help us make this happen!
