Help Us To Continue To Provide Fresh, Nutritious Produce for Iowa Food Pantries!

Food insecurity is rising in Iowa as 1 in 11 families and 1 in 6 children have food insecurities. Food pantries in Iowa are seeing an unprecedented demand for fresh, nutritious food. At Iowa Gardening for Good, we are committed to growing and donating locally sourced produce to those who need it most.

We need your help to continue our efforts! We are raising $50,000 to cover spring labor and input costs (your donation will be used to help purchase: seed, fertilizer, plastic mulch, drip tape, seed trays, potting mix, and other seeding expenses) so we can continue to grow and donate fresh, nutritious produce for food pantries across Iowa.

Iowa Gardening for Good is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to grow, harvest, and distribute fresh, nutritious vegetables for those in need. In 2024, Iowa Gardening for Good distributed 225,000+ pounds of fresh produce to food pantries and food banks in Iowa. The efforts of 2,000+ volunteers made this happen. By utilizing this network of volunteers to grow, harvest, and distribute the produce grown at our nearly 20 acres of gardens, Iowa Gardening for Good is able to take all donations, maximize them, and deliver fresh, high-quality produce to food pantries and food banks at a fraction of grocery store prices.

With government funding for food assistance decreasing, food pantries are struggling more than ever to provide healthy options for families in need. Help us to continue to provide for those families in need by donating to help cover our spring expenses and by volunteering at the Garden.
