iPads For Elders
Donation protected
Hi,
We are Alex and Liam Watts, and are Sophomores at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua. We hope this message finds you in good health and safety.
We are both trumpet players in the Westchester Klezmer Band, a band that travels throughout Westchester County and plays traditional Jewish music to elders at Nursing Homes, VA Hospitals, Assisted Living Facilities, and other fabulous places. Besides our love for playing the trumpet, we have also developed a love for the senior citizens in our community! It gives us so much joy to see the faces of the seniors when we play for them. Their faces light up while dancing and clapping to the music.
However, during these difficult times, we feel very bad for them. Due to COVID-19, they are isolated, alone, and have little connection to their families and loved ones.
We would like to help enable the seniors to be able to communicate with their families and loved ones and bring some much needed joy to their lives.
To accomplish this, we have started a charity called iPads for Elders.
We are asking people to donate their old iPads or tablets for us to deliver to nursing homes or assisted living facilities. We ask that you to place your devices in a plastic bag and to contact us at [email redacted] to set up a pickup for your devices in a social-distancing protocol-appropriate way. Please only donate a device that is able to FaceTime or download Zoom (iPad Generation 2 or newer), WhatsApp, and other communication applications. Please include the charger if available.
If you do not have a device available to donate and would like to contribute monetarily, please feel free to donate to our GoFundMe. We will use these funds to purchase iPads and other devices for the seniors.
Thank you and stay safe,
Alex and Liam Watts
