Ipplepen Cricket Club are making changes.....

Donation protected
We are a village cricket club in South Devon. We pride ourselves on being a family orientated Club offering cricket for all ages.

We run teams for men, women, boys and girls. We have 150 playing members with c200 supporters/parents enjoying both the cricket and social elements of our Club. Last season saw us play 125 matches across 12 teams. We regularly develop players for County age groups and enjoy hosting some of their matches each year.

Our Clubhouse is nearly 40 years’ old and was built to accommodate one Mens’ team and one Colts XI. It had become outdated and unsuitable for the mix of players and number of teams. We also have boys and girls playing in the same team but at present we only have one changing room per team.

During last Winter we managed to attract grant funding to improve the club room, and matched it with our own cash. We created an accessible toilet and level access, installed a new kitchen, bi-fold doors and refurbished the floors, decor and furniture. With members providing many volunteer hours, and Sponsors offering generous discounts we have transformed the space into a light and airy space that can be enjoyed by everyone.

We are pleased to announce that work has begun on this year’s project - to improve our changing room and toilet facilities. From last year’s members’ survey, we were told that an additional ladies’ toilet, an additional room for girls changing and individual shower cubicles, would all improve the facilities that we provide. In addition a more efficient hot water supply and lighting system, will help our carbon footprint and efficiency.

This project has an initial costing of £23,000 but unfortunately we have so far been unsuccessful in securing further grant funding for this project. This means that our cash reserves will be severely stretched if we cannot find additional ways to finance the improvements.

This is where YOU come in!

We are launching this page to enable you to donate towards the project. We have listed below some of the items that are needed, and if you feel able to help with cash, please donate through this page. If you could help with materials, or your time, please contact us by email on [email redacted].uk or call me on 07540053489.

Your name will be displayed on a “Donators/Volunteers” board in the Club room as a mark of our appreciation, but values will be confidential (unless you would like your name on a bench or a toilet!). Any contribution is gratefully accepted, and these improvements will put the Club on a great footing for many years to come – please help if you can. THANK YOU
