DALES BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT FUND
We are The Hills, Dale and Brycea Hill. We've been together nearly 4 years now and haven't been apart a day since. We blended our families together with three wonderful kids. Kenny-19, Ashton-14 and, Aidan-9. They are our everything! Kenny is a helpful, hard working young man. Ashton is a very determined and athletic teenager. Aidan, a kind, heart felt young boy. On August 2, 2014 we got married. It was truly the best day of our lives!!! But something came into light that day, that would change our lives forever! That afternoon before the wedding, dale was spotting Ashton doing a backflip. As Ashton went over his weight landed on Dale's arm breaking his collarbone. The fracture was so small they had a hard time seeing it, but the pain was there. When we got back from our honeymoon his ribs and his back started hurting worse than the broken collarbone. So back to the doctor we went. After many tests and much blood work we have learned that Dale has a disease called Mutiple Myeloma, a fancy word for Bone Cancer. This disease allows your bones to be brittle and break for no reason. So we got the answer as to why he was breaking all these bones left and right. It was not at all the answer we wanted or what I wanted to have to tell our kids, but we had to. We are a tough family, they took the news like troopers and started doing what they could to help. We don't understand why we have to take this journey but we know that we will be stronger and closer when this is all said and done. Dale started his chemo treatments on Dec. 9 2014. We are being treated by a wonderful team out of Munson in Traverse City. Dale is doing well on the chemo so far. The drive to Traverse City in the 1989 Ford Van is very painful for him and that is one reason I am asking for donations. We need a newer, dependable, comfortable ride for Dale for these weekly appointments. Not to mention our transmission is starting to go out on the van. The other reason I am asking for your donations is we need a comfortable bed for the side effects of his medical problems. Thank you for reading our story and for your donations. But most importantly, keeps us in your prayers!
