Dec, 15th I came in to have a mitral valve repair done (open heart surgery). My body did not take to bypass very well and I was out for a few days. My kidneys still are not working 100%, so I have dialysis about three times each week. Unfortunately, the repair was not successful, and I will have to come back for a valve replacement as soon as my kidneys start functioning correctly. While healing from the first surgery, my blood pressure was running high. When they tried to medicate me for that, my body reacted badly and I flat lined. That put me unconscious for a few more days. Since then, my kidneys have slowly been getting better. Everything I have gone through and the upcoming surgery has created a financial burden my family wasn't expecting. Since I am most likely to be off work for quite some time, and temporary disability paying very little, we will be struggling for a while. I really hate asking for help, but I am out of options.
