I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a plea for assistance. My beloved grandmother, Irene Maurer, has been facing a challenging journey lately. At 86 years old, she is battling dementia and is currently recovering from a fall that put her into the hospital for a month and has left her unable to do many things on her own.

As her grandson, it breaks my heart to see her struggle. Irene has always been a pillar of strength and kindness in our family, and now she needs our help more than ever. She recently moved into my home, where my wife Kelly and I can provide her with the care and attention she deserves. However, to ensure her safety and comfort, we are in the process of renovating our bathroom to include an ADA walk-in shower on the first floor. This renovation comes with a significant cost, roughly $20,000, but it's essential to make our home accessible and suitable for her needs.

In addition to the bathroom renovation, the expenses for nursing and home aides are substantial, exceeding $5,000 per month. The care and support they provide are invaluable in helping my grandmother navigate her daily life with dignity and comfort.
