Irene Rossman's Medical Expenses

Although she has never smoked a cigarette in her life, Irene has been diagnosed with lung cancer that has metastasized to her brain. This all began in late summer, when Irene started having pain in her legs and hip. Despite this, she and best friend Rise Kasmirski, went on a wonderful 10-day trip to Spain in early October.
When she returned, however, she started having additional flu-like symptoms...intense headaches, nausea and fatigue. A series of tests revealed that she didn't have any of the "bugs" or conditions her doctor originally suspected. Irene struggled with these symptoms and was finally hospitalized the week before Thanksgiving.
It was in the hospital that a completely different and totally unexpected diagnosis was made...a tumor in her lung with cancer spreading to her brain, spinal fluid and hip. It goes without saying that we were absolutely heartbroken at this news.
Irene came home on Thanksgiving Day, happy to spend the day with family and friends. Family and friends--that's what her life has always been about.
After another stay in the hospital, Irene was moved to Little Hospice in Edina yesterday. She remains very fatigued and has periods where she is in pain or confused. At this time, we are discouraging visits to her as her energy is limited, and we have many family members (including some from out of town) and close friends who are surrounding her with their abundant love and caring.
Irene is a caretaker by nature. She has been an integral part in countless people's lives and now is the time for us to give back. Please consider donating to help Sarah cover the expenses that are an unfortunate part of giving Irene the care and comfort that she needs and deserves.
