Support the Irias-Bice family in the wake of the Eaton fire

The Irias/ Bice family lost their family home in Alta Dena this week to the fires burning in Los Angeles. Their home housed Kevin and Maryem, their three children, Ynez (14), Ezra (12) and Oliver (10), Maryem's elderly father and several family animals. They are currently staying with Kevin's mother and the few belongings they were able to take with them when the evacuated.

The family is still in shock and the inventory of what was burned has only begun to be assessed. The family is working through the arduous journey of navigating insurance claims, finding a short-term rental, accessing FEMA funds, etc. As a community, we want to ensure that Maryem (who is self-employed) and Kevin can take some time off of work to focus on these tasks while tending to their children. We also want to ensure that any immediate gaps in disaster relief are filled so the family can create some sense of normalcy. And lastly, ensure that any longer-term mental or physical health needs can be met with resources at the ready.
