Iris' Healing Fund

On January 20, 2021, Iris was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast carcinoma with a reoccurrence in the lungs, a mass in the mediastinum and 5 enlarged lymph nodes. Unfortunately, this is not Iris' first battle with cancer. In 2008, while being diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time, her husband passed away when he took his own life.  Unfortunately, 12 years later the cancer has returned.  Iris lost her husband, moved her family out of necessity and has been a single mother to three children.  Iris and her family want to do everything they can as so she can always  be there for her children.  She has gone through a lot to raise the kids on her own recovering from cancer and dealing with the trauma of someone taking their own life.  

At this point, Iris' goal to treat her cancer is to go to a clinic that uses a holistic approach. Traditional medicine has nothing to offer stage 4 cancer.  She is hoping her community and friends and family at large can help her to achieve this goal of going to a clinic.  These clinics cost up to $12,000 per week and she has to go for 6-12 weeks.  

There are several factors that have contributed to creating this go-fund-me campaign:
-Because of the nature of Iris' cancer, she can no longer work and therefore her income has been stifled.
-Medical treatments and care are becoming a financial drain. The doctors haven't offered her much hope or care options. She has decided not to give up and truly wants this shot at healing her cancer.  She understands the options and hope you can share in her vision to heal herself.  
-Iris is determined to beat this cancer! Her wish is to attend an alternative healing center (anoasisofhealing.com) to battle the cancer with a team of knowledgeable and caring healers. This will be a huge financial expense. 

It is the hope of Iris, her family and friends, that the goal of $50,000 can be obtained swiftly, as time is crucial for holistic healing. The goal of holistic medicine is to treat the whole person -- that means mind, body, and spirit. It also aims to heal the root causes of an illness -- not just stop the symptoms. This natural process takes time for the body to respond and heal.
