Iris needs knee surgery on both of her knees! :(

As some of you know, it's been a rough and challenging year for me in more than one way. I also HATE asking for any help, but I have come to the point of desperation because I don't know what else to do. I have seasonal work, and with my gardening season being interrupted this year by me fracturing my top and bottom of my fibula bone mid-June (the same day Iris had her x-rays on her hips/knees!) I was out of work for 8+ weeks. We got torrential rains in July, and my dad had open heart surgery in the beginning of September. Lots of stress and not being able to work!

Iris, our beloved dog, has torn both of her ACLs in her back knees, and may need additional surgery on her meniscus. I met with the surgeon today to go over everything. Iris has been in a lot of pain, and I can't put her down because of us not being able to afford surgery, we are going to find a way. She is like my child and therapy animal. I had to rehome my chickens recently for multiple reasons and that was devastating to me, as they were also my therapy animals.

With losing so much work this season, and trying to get caught up with my own bookkeeping, I know that I won't have enough to cover this expensive surgery. It will be around $11,000 to have both of her knees operated on at the same time!!! I will share a photograph of the estimate from the vet. A deposit of $10, 740 is needed on the day of the surgery when I drop her off. Surgery is scheduled for December 19th at the moment.

I am begging for any small amount you can spare. Iris is such a sweet dog and needed in our world. She helped herd my chickens in and never hurt them, and loves our cats and kids. She sleeps with me every night and is my companion right now. Iris loves everyone she meets after barking in the window and alerting us to anyone outside. With any donation of $25-$50 or more I can send along a thank you of tea, a small bottle of home-made vanilla, a home-made wreath while I have supplies, art, or seeds or plants come next spring!! I can send art for any small donation amount, just give me time and tell me you want art! I love doing blind-contour drawings, just send a photo of someone or a pet and I can do a blind contour drawing and mail it to you, and I also love to do water color paintings and have been doing fish and birch trees lately.
