IRISH AV SECTOR APPEAL TO SUPPORT UKRAINE
Donation protected
Animation Ireland and Screen Producers Ireland (SPI) launch an appeal to support the work of the Irish Red Cross and Unicef in Ukraine and neighbouring countries.
Animation Ireland and SPI are currently working alongside stakeholders, organisation members, and government agencies to put in place short-term, medium-term and long-term support to people affected by the war in Ukraine.
One of our collaborative, short to medium-term actions is to invite our own members, followers, and the public to contribute much-needed funds to the Irish Red Cross and Unicef .
How will your donations help?
Humanitarian needs across Ukraine are still critical and multiplying.
Hundreds of thousands of people don’t have safe drinking water as a result of damage to water systems and to infrastructure, and many have been cut off from access to other crucial services including healthcare.
One of the ways in which healthcare access has been impacted is through the lack of both basic and critical medical supplies, which has forced a halt in urgent efforts to curb a polio outbreak.
Right now we know that the humanitarian needs are huge and are likely to increase. Animation Ireland and Screen Producers Ireland are collaborating efforts to raise funds to address these needs on behalf of animators and producers working in the AV sector in Ireland.
Where are the funds going?
UNICEF is on the ground, working to reach vulnerable children and families with essential services including health, education, protection, water and sanitation.
Red Cross teams will also continue their work to repair vital infrastructure, support health facilities, and help families with life-saving food and hygiene items.
This is a rapidly evolving crisis. Your donation will help those affected get food, medicine, shelter and water. Your support will also help these organisations to assist those displaced by conflict.
We thank you for your support.
