Irish Cancer Society & Yeats Utd Astro Fund

Hi, my name is Peter and I am completing an IronMan 70.3 on 22nd September 2024 in Emilia-Romagna, Italy.

In June 2021 my world changed when I was diagnosed with stage 2c testicular seminoma. Following 4 rounds of BEP chemotherapy & then surgery, thankfully in November that year I was given the all clear. Since then I am in remission but as is standard, will remain on surveillance for 5 years.

Given the local support that me & my family received during those tough months & also with the huge admiration I have for the Irish Cancer Society, I have decided to complete an IronMan 70.3 to raise much needed funds for 2 great causes; The Irish Cancer Society & the Yeats Utd Astro Fund. I am a volunteer coach & my boys play with Yeats Utd, but now the club really needs an astro pitch for the 100's of girls & boys that love their football and are part of this great organisation. The Irish Cancer Society helps countless cancer patients annually and relies on 95% of their income to come from fundraising. They are a community of patients, survivors, volunteers, supporters, health and social care professionals and researchers who work tirelessly to transform the experiences and outcomes of people affected by cancer through advocacy, support services and research. Every penny that is raised by this fundraiser with be split 50:50 between these 2 great organisations. All costs incurred to take part in this event will be covered by myself & my family.

I really hope everyone can get behind me now & show the same level of support again, albeit this time for much different but equally important causes.
