Irish Music Industry COVID19 Emergency Relief Fund
Donation protected
The Irish Music Industry COVID-19 Relief Fund to support Irish music creators was a fundraiser which was set up by the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO), the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) and First Music Contact (FMC), who administered the fund.
In addition to the financial contributions by IMRO and IRMA, Spotify made a donation and matched donations made to the Irish Music Industry COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund via Spotify’s COVID-19 Music Relief page, dollar-for-dollar, up to a total Spotify contribution of $10 million for the collective verified organisations worldwide, a portion of which was received by the Irish fund. Donations were also received by individuals as a result of fundraising efforts.
The fund was created in April 2020 to assist Irish music creators who were experiencing the most financial need. It was open to songwriters, composers, performers, session musicians and arrangers who were trying to navigate through this challenging time.
Successful applicants received a once-off emergency relief payment of €750 on a first come, first served basis.
The fund is now closed.
