Irmler Family in Recovery from Mold Exposure

Irmler Family- homeless, lost almost everything to extensive mold exposure, suffering serious health complications

I just wanted to share my sister’s story and ask for prayer for this desperate situation.

About a year ago, my sister, Melodi and her husband Jonathan and two children (now ages 2 and 1) moved from California to Indiana. Unbeknownst to them, their new rental house was seriously invaded with mold (including throughout air ducts) and had been for quite some time. At first it was just colds and fevers and it took a while to discover the hidden mold and identify it as the culprit. Jonathan took the biggest hit as he began having serious trouble breathing (amongst other frightening symptoms) and started developing blood clots (one in his lung which nearly took his life) and one in his leg. This debilitated him, leaving him absolutely bed ridden for weeks. Melodi and Jonathan were advised by the doctor to leave the house and area immediately. So with no where else to go, they moved back to California, and through an unfortunate series of events, they are now homeless. Jonathan, still very weak, is currently unable to work a normal job. If this weren’t enough trauma already, they had to trash everything porous from the old house as well as anything that could have been contaminated (ALL clothes, books, toys) EVERYTHING had to go that could have been infected with the mold. This whole situation has been heart breaking for their family and those of us watching on.

So I am asking for prayer for

1. Jonathan’s healing

2. That God would provide finances for the enormous amount of medical bills as well as starting again from the ground up

3. Safe, mold free housing for Jonathan and the family to heal
