I LOVE THIS BAR!

In July of 2019 my daughter Andrea and I were celebrating her birthday at the iron door. Like many people we thought about how cool it would be to rescue the bar that was in distress and for sale. Andrea said lets and buy it!
I talked with my friend Mark Berger, we discussed lots of business and I valued his opinion and input. Mark said buy it!

I told him, “it’s not that easy without the money”. Mark said “I will buy it for you.” “Let's do it” and we did exactly that in September of 2019.
Business always brings challenges, but we started on a great run and saw so much more to be done. 

Extremely sad and unexpected Mark died of natural causes in January of 2021. This has put the iron door bar and me, Shad Hunziker, without financial backing.

I did not have the liquid cash to buy in the first place. That is why I made a partner agreement with my friend Mark. Now, I have to buy out the estate.

I am humbly asking for your help. I have poured all my time and energy into this business deal.

The iron door is so much more than just a bar. It is our off roading history,  and a community resource that we all treasure. The bar is open 12 months of the year but only really has 8 months of revenue. The rest of the time, we support locals with a place for community. Those of you who come and visit, know that I have been in ocotillo wells constantly since the purchase in September 2019. Re-establishing the iron door has been a labor of love.

 

I am not a paid employee at the bar for the last two years while working the bar. And I have invested my money and resources to help and support the needs of the community and the bar. I am not in a position to just buy out the bar estate out right. Personally I am starting to feel tired and the silent stress is taking a toll on my mental health. I lost my friend Mark, I have a business deal that was not complete.

I need to come up with large cash while being put in distress by lawyers and legal concerns. I had no choice but to stay focused on the bar to protect it and keep it open.

I just want to get this deal done and plan some more fun activities at the iron door.

Money is needed for all kinds of expenses. Legal, financial applications, transfer fees. Closing cost. Insurance cost. The wifi , the direct tv, electricity. Repairs that have been getting deferred.
