National Center For Missing & Exploited Children

Hi Everyone,
My name is Kevin Van Horn and I'm a member of the IRONMAN Foundation competing in the BlueRidge IRONMAN Triathlon on June 6th, 2021. I'm raising funds for the IRONMAN Foundation as well as The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
Someone recently told me that doing a Ironman might be fairly painful and not to mention very difficult. They also told me that I'll probably get passed by a bunch of old ladies on the swim...I concur with all of these statements. Yet doing things that are physically and mentally difficult are what make people feel alive; it's what makes a difference. During my race I want to make a difference with each stroke, revolution, and step.
"IRONMAN is about persevering, enduring and being a part of something larger than ourselves. To accomplish something extraordinary, one must have an extraordinary dream. A goal so high, a journey so demanding, that its achievement to most seems impossible"
You will have noticed the logo for The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (here is a link to their website: https://www.missingkids.org/home) but let me tell you about them. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children serves as a resource center for law enforcement, families and the public to help find missing children, reduce child sexual exploitation and prevent child victimization.
The FBI states that in the United States alone, an estimated 460,000 children are reported missing every year. I firmly believe that one missing child is one too many, and we should all be committed to improving the global understanding of and response to missing and abducted children.
My mission is to help bring awareness to the growing number of children being exploited, not just in the United States but throughout the world. I am raising funds to aide in the vision of creating a nation free from child abduction and the sexual exploitation of children.
My goal is to raise $1 for every 100 children reported missing each year, for a total of $4,600 (estimated 460,000 children). Each and every donation made, no matter the amount, will make a substantial difference to help law enforcement and families find missing children and prevent the abduction and sexual exploitation of children.
Thank you for checking out my gofundme page, your contribution, and more importantly; your moral support!
Best,
Kevin
