The day is almost upon us when Ryan and Chris take on the Iron Man Wales
On Sunday 22/09/24 set in the beautiful Pembrokeshire village of Tenby, the race has gained a reputation for being one of the toughest courses on the Ironman circuit – a 2.4 mile sea swim in the bay, followed by a very lumpy 112 miles on the bike and finally a marathon course around the town which also has barely a mile of flat road in it.
Whilst the course is brutal the support you receive is incredible and what makes the race really special and we’re hoping the crowds there and back home can get them through!
Despite the challenges and difficulties they may encounter on the day, it is only a small fraction of what those who are faced with a brain tumour diagnosis have to go through.
We are hoping we can raise some more funds for the brain tumour charity and Alder Hey, both have played a huge part in Patrick’s success at beating cancer. we will be forever grateful for all that they do, and we hope that the money raised can help make a difference.
Good luck lads, we are all behind you
These four individuals—Ryan, Chris, Ben, and Aaron—are gearing up for the Ironman UK 70.3 on Sunday, June 30th. It all began with a casual conversation over drinks at The Croft during the King's Coronation. What started as a lighthearted chat has now evolved into a serious commitment. For a couple of them, this is their first time engaging in such an intense physical challenge—their prior experience being little more than walking between the village pubs.
Despite their inexperience, they have dedicated a year to rigorous training and mastering the intricacies of triathlon competition. They have trained relentlessly, braving all weather conditions to prepare for this formidable event.
Ryan and Chris are furthering their challenge by taking on one of the toughest events in the Ironman calendar—Ironman Wales in Tenby, on September 22, 2024. Full iron distance, 140.6.
Their motivation comes from a heartfelt cause, as they have a special little boy at the forefront of their minds, driving their determination and effort. Patrick Cahill.
On Wednesday, August 16th, 2023, Patrick's world was forever changed when he was diagnosed with a high-grade malignant brain tumor (brain cancer). Throughout his journey, he has been accompanied by his mother, Anita, father, Martin, and younger brother, Joseph, who have provided unwavering support every step of the way, and have all been blown away with how Patrick has handled this illness.
In the face of Patrick's diagnosis and the challenges ahead, along with everything he has already been through, the lads are rallying together to make a meaningful difference. With unwavering determination, they've embarked on a mission to generate funds to support Patrick and his family through this trying time. Their hearts are filled with compassion and solidarity as they channel their energy into triathlon.
