On Thursday, March 14th at around 3am, our dear friend, Alba Isabel (affectionately known as “Albita” or “Isa” by her loved ones) was brutally beaten on her way home from her night job cleaning offices in downtown San Francisco.
She was blocks from her home, when a man senselessly attacked her. He took her backpack, kicked her and punched her face repeatedly, leaving her badly beaten on the street. By the grace of God, she made her way to the steps of her home and was discovered by her 19 year old daughter Sofia. She was immediately taken by ambulance to the hospital where the loving staff attended to her, some crying because of the horrible nature of the beating. “How could someone do this?” they asked in disbelief.
Those of us who know and love Isa are asking the same question. We are saddened, angry, shaken and want to help in anyway we can. Isa is an exceptional woman: honorable, humble, selflessly caring, always thinking of others and helping those in need around her. She has made us laugh, cared for our little children and has worked tirelessly to provide for her two lovely daughters. She is part of our family.
Needless to say, she needs financial assistance during this painful time. She will have hospital and dental bills and have to take time off from work to heal.

El Jueves 14 de marzo, alrededor de las 3 am, nuestra querida amiga, Alba Isabel (conocida cariñosamente como "Albita" o "Isa" por sus seres queridos) fue brutalmente golpeada en su camino a casa después de su trabajo de limpieza en el centro de San Francisco.
Estaba a unas cuadras de su casa, cuando un hombre la atacó sin sentido.
Le robó su mochila, y le dio golpes y patadas fuertes y repetidas en la cara, dejándola golpeada en la calle. Por gracia de Dios, ella llegó a las escaleras de su casa y fue descubierta por su hija Sofía, de 19 años. Fue llevada de inmediato por la ambulancia al hospital donde el personal la atendió, algunos llorando por la horrible naturaleza de sus golpes. ‘¿ Quién pudo haber hecho esto?,’ preguntaban incrédulos.
Todos los que conocemos y queremos a Isa nos estamos preguntando lo mismo. Estamos tristes, enojados, conmovidos y queremos ayudar de cualquier manera posible. Isa es una gran mujer: honorable, humilde y siempre pensando en otros y cuidando a los demás. Ella nos ha hecho reír, ha cuidado a nuestros niños pequeños y ha trabajado incansablemente para cuidar a sus dos hijas. Ella es parte de nuestra familia.
Cómo se imaginan, ella necesita ayuda financiera durante este tiempo tan doloroso. Tendrá gastos del hospital y dentista y tendrá que faltar al trabajo para poder recuperar y sanar.
Si pudiera ayudarnos a recaudar dinero para nuestra querida amiga en su momento de necesidad, estaremos muy agradecidos.
