Imagine waking up one morning and taking your last steps. Imagine being an exceptional student athlete, having 7 + offers from major D1 colleges and that being striped from you. Imagine being the sole survivor of a tragic car accident and watching 2 of your close friends lose their lives right in front of your eyes. Imagine overcoming all of these obstacles, finding a new calling in life and excel. Imagine being Isaac Lipscomb.
On November 21, 2016, Isaac’s life changes forever. Isaac was involved in a tragic car accident that claimed the life of 2 of his closed friends, Samir Barrera and Isaiah West. Isaac was the sole survivor from the accident and suffered from a spinal injury which left him paralyzed from the waist down. Isaac was an exceptional football athlete on the field. He received 7+ D1 college offers that unfortunately he would not be able to accept. Overcoming those obstacles was extremely hard but it was done. Isaac kept his great spirit and remained strong throughout the entire tribulation. Needless to say, Isaac found his new calling: Track and Field. He would be the first to ever compete in Miami-Dade County as an Adapted track athlete. Isaac competed in the 200m, 800m, Javelin, Shot-Put adapated events. Isaac competed in track meets where he would bring home gold from every event. Before competing in State Finals, Isaac competed in the Dixie Games, where he broke records in Javelin and Shot- Put. After the Dixie Games, it was time for State Finals. Isaac competed along with others who share similar characteristics. Isaac took first in the 200m, 800m and Shot-Put and was named Adapted Track and Field State-Champion for Class 4A. It doesn’t end here though. With all of Isaac’s accomplishments, Isaac received an invitation to compete in the Junior Olympics in Fort Wayne, Indiana on July 21, 2018- July 28, 2018. Isaac will compete in 3 events including Javelin, Shot-Put and Discus but he needs help getting there. Please share and donate to help get Isaac to Indiana.
