Isabella Marie Jensen
Donation protected
Ric and Emily have had two beautiful children (Raymon and Kathyrn) and are soon expecting their third child in Early August, Isabella. During Emily's 22 week ultrasound, Emily went in for what was believed to be a normal checkup when there was an abnormality detected with the heart of baby Isabella during an ultrasound. Images were captured and sent to Mayo clinic for a second opinion. That evening Ric and Emily received a call her doctor explaing that Isabella has a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. Tetralogy is a common heart defect in which 4 major features of the heart develop the wrong way leading to oxygen poor blood being circulated around the body. This congenital defect is correctable but only through a series of surgeries throughout the lifetime of the child. For the time being, Isabella is fine while Emily does most of the work for her but once she is born, her fight begins.
In early June Emily and Ric took their first of many trips to Rochester, MN in order to meet the medical team that will take care of Isabella and also to get an in person feel for what to expect at her arrival. During the ultrasounds the team of doctors and surgeons remained very optimistic that baby Bella's condition is correctable and positive that they were in a good position with her. During their time there it was decided that Emily would need to relocate to Rochester 3 weeks before Isabella's due date with Ric joining her 1 week before the due date. Once Isabella arrives it will be determined how severe her condition is and what her immediate needs will be. The doctors believe that she will not need her first surgery until 3-6 months of life but will definitely need to return to Mayo Clinic for life long care. Once she is allowed to leave the ICU and return home with Emily and Ric she will likely be on heart monitors as well as oxygen and other medical equipment.
Please consider a donation to help the Jensen family through their difficult time. Funds will be used during their August relocation in Rochester, MN while they are away from work for several weeks, medical expenses and equipment, as well as the many future trips needed for checkups at Mayo Clinic and the eventual operations to come in order to fix her heart. We all appreciate your time and consideration and can't wait to welcome Baby Isabella home in August!
If you wish to donate through a different medium a bank account has been set up at Gate City Bank entitled "Richard Jensen Benefit" in which all funds will go directly to Ric and Emily.
