Isabella needs a splenectomy!

Hello, my name is Diane, and I'm raising funds for my dog Isabella. She requires surgery to remove a mass on her spleen.

Twelve years ago, I visited the local shelter looking for a dog. I fell in love with Issy immediately, but she wasn't so sure about me! She had been found abandoned in an empty house the day before and was very timid. Since she had been found rather than surrendered, she had to wait at least 3-4 weeks for the shelter to send notification to the original owners. Of course, there was no place to send the notice except the abandoned house, so the shelter knew no one would receive it. I decided to visit Issy every day so she'd become used to me. It worked, and she began to run to greet me each day.

After four long weeks, it was time to bring her home. The vet working at the shelter had spayed Issy that morning and warned me that she was timid and wouldn't immediately accept me. Imagine his surprise when she leaped into my arms like a long-lost friend. I laughingly explained that I had been seeing her every day for a month, and I was the only consistent person in her life!

Now Issy is a happy, reasonably healthy 15-year-old. Unfortunately, she has been feeling unwell for the past few days, and yesterday the vet ran some tests and determined that the issue is a mass in her spleen. He will run some blood tests and do a sonogram and X-rays to decide whether or not she's healthy enough for surgery, but he is convinced that her only health concern is the mass. We don't know what the mass is but won't until it is removed.

Issy has insurance with a $1,000 deductible. After the deductible, insurance will cover 90% of her treatment, but the entire procedure may not be covered. Issy also has some tooth issues, and the vet mentioned that he would most likely try to alleviate those at the same time. Her insurance doesn't entirely cover dental work.

We are asking for enough to cover her dental work and the deductible. The cost of living in Florida is rising along with rents and everything else, and I don't make enough to cover the emergency.
