Isabella vs. Leukemia (A.L.L.)
Donation protected
Hi everyone, so last Monday Franka and I started to notice a change in our daughter thinking she was sick. We were seeing her with a fever, she was very lethargic to the point where she was peeing the bed 3-4 times a night opposed to her usual, once maybe twice a week. We ended up keeping her from school Tuesday and Wednesday Franka received a phone call from Isabella’s school because she hadn’t stopped crying.
So when Franka picked her up from school, Isabella’s grand mother, Jen had pointed out that Isabella’s skin was extremely yellow and that we should bring her to her pediatrician.
Franka brought her to her pediatrician and got blood work done. Not even 10 minutes after they left, Franka received a phone call from the office and we were told that we had to bring her to Tufts floating hospital in Boston, but we decided to go to Children’s hospital instead. When we got to the ER, they immediately got us into a private room, took her blood, and had some pretty accurate answers within hours. They prepared us for what had looked like leukemia. In which after more blood work, they confirmed that Isabella had been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. (A.L.L.).
This news has been hands down the worst news we’ve ever received. But the children’s hospital staff has not only been extremely informative, but amazing with how they treat our daughter. They let us know that even though some children do pass away from her version of leukemia ( A.L.L.; higher risk due to a genetic mutation) the majority of children can be cured.
Being affiliated with Dana Farber, having our family and friends as our support system, and by faith in God, she is in the best hands in the country to treat this. Which has made us very confident in the fact that our daughter WILL beat this and will kick cancers butt.
The unfortunate side to this, is that she still has to undergo 25 months of chemotherapy. This has been taking a huge toll on us already. We are currently living in children’s hospital. We please ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers and we will keep you posted on her updates.
With Franka and I being out of work now, we are asking that you could please help us out by donating in order to reach our financial goal, so that we can accomplish our main goal, and that’s to be there for our daughter at every moment for the next 25 months without having to worry about any finances. Thank you all so much.
