Isabellas Wish - Cuddle cot for Royal Berks Hosp

Hi there, we are Hannah and Jordan, parents of a very special little girl who sadly passed away in July 2020.

I fell pregnant just before Christmas in 2019 and in March 2020 we found out we were welcoming a baby girl to our little family. She would be a little sister to our then, 4 year old Son.

In July 2020, I haemorrhaged after suffering a placental abruption that happened so fast there was nothing that could be done and Isabellas heart had stopped beating. Our perfect little girl, Isabella Rose was born on the morning of 4th July 2020

We were cared for phenomenally by the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading.

They explained they had a cuddle cot which meant if we wanted to, we were able to spend more time with Isabella. We went on to spend 17 days, cuddling her, holding her and smothering her in kisses. This also allowed her older brother to meet her. This gave him such a better understanding of Isabella and that she was a real baby, just one we so sadly couldn’t bring home to her family.

A cuddle cot is a special machine that can be connected to a bed, cot or Moses basket. This means that if a family wish to take their baby home before having to say their goodbyes, they have that option.

I believe it is so important to give families this choice during the most heartbreaking time of their lives to help deal with the grieving process.

We would love to raise enough money to provide a cuddle cot for the RBH, if we are lucky enough to raise more, we would also love to donate one to a hospital that does not have a cuddle cot.
