Too Much To Handle
Isaiah Henry was a smart and respectful young man. He was the such an important part of our family. His strength was amazing. He went through so much and carried a weight that was too much to bare.
In 2017, his mom went temporarily blind and was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. In 2019, his grandfather moved his family to Florida because his mom’s health was deteriorating. Later that year, she had to have brain surgery and came out paralyzed on the left side of her body. While his mother was in the hospital for over a month, Isaiah stood in the gap and took care of his year old baby sister at night all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. He had to watch his mom be brought home by ambulance to a hospital bed set up in the home. He had to adjust to seeing him mom in a wheelchair struggling to take care of their daily needs. Isaiah was so dependable and reliable. He helped his mom the best way he could. He would then have to watch is mom lose her hair while going through 33 treatments of radiation. In that same year, he watch his baby sister go through open-heart surgery to close 3 holes in her heart, and he lost his grandfather to COVID. Isaiah went through all of this while maintaining his 4.0 GPA! It was a lot for him and he started to show. He began to have his own struggles from the unfortunate traumas that his family was going through.
In 2022, he found out that he would have to leave the home that his deceased grandfather purchased for his family because his step-grandmother wanted to sell it. It devastated Isaiah that he had to leave all that meant to world to him. He had great friendships. He had made connections at University of Central Florida. He traveled to California to represent Astronaut High School in a research project. He was an overachiever. He was a stellar kid! Everyone that knew Isaiah had nothing but wonderful things to say about him. It crushed him to leave all that he worked so hard for.
He had a very hard time adjusting to moving to Georgia. It was a lot for him, but Isaiah remained resilient and tenacious! He still maintained a 4.0 GPA. He watched his family struggle living in hotels. He began to suffer from depression because of all that he went through. His mom and siblings supported him as he had a hard time trying to understand why life had dealt his family such a hard hand.
Isaiah was an amazing young man. He was brilliant and had such a bright future. He had dreams of becoming a software engineer. We could not be happier to know that someone so caring and dependable was in our family. He made an impression wherever he went because he was so uncommon. It’s rare to see such a respectful young man. He was our “go-to” guy. If you needed something done the right way, ask Isaiah. He was a role model. His younger brother and sisters looked up to him. His mom could always depend on him! He was the backbone of the family!
Isaiah you are gone too soon! We are so sorry that all of this was too much to handle!
We love you and we will never forget you!
