Isela Lerma's Medical & Travel Expenses

I am fundraising for our niece, Isela Lerma who has had Myeloid Dysplastic Syndrome & Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Blood Cancer) since May 2022. The funds will be used to meet Isela's deductible and copays while getting treatment at MD Anderson in Houston, TX. She has a home in El Paso and has been renting a place in Houston for several months while getting treatment.

Isela has HOPE FOR HEALING and will keep fighting as long as she can. It is scary to broadcast our worries and needs but we believe that people will find it in their hearts to help our niece, sister, and friend in her hour of need. We ask that you help with whatever you can. Isela has spent her life helping others being her grandmother's caregiver, our runner to doctor's offices, an expert shopper for supplies for our company, and a party planner who has raised funds for numerous charitable events. It's now our turn to help her and her family as they go through this difficult time. Their life savings have been depleted with travel expenses and medical bills. In addition, her family's home was flooded while they were out of town and still has not been repaired due to a lack of resources. After challenge after challenge, we realized we need help from our family, friends and community. Isela is receiving weekly transfusions of blood and platelets through an IV. She has received multiple rounds of chemotherapy. She required brain surgery in November 2022 for a brain infection. She has been hospitalized off and on for over 130 days this year. Isela's new challenge in the coming weeks will be the stem cell transplant once her infection is resolved. We are grateful for the support you have already shown her and ask for your help once again.
