Bioparque Isla Palma, Colombia

The Isla Palma bio-park is a small, non-profit wildlife conservation centre, located on a Colombian island in the Caribbean Sea.
 
This natural reserve is a hotspot for the conservation of the Hawksbill (Carey) sea turtle, since once per year these turtles lay their eggs on the island's beaches.

In addition to the turtles, the island is host to three species of monkey (howling monkeys, spider monkeys, squirrel monkeys and the unique cotton-top tamarin) as well as flamingos, macaw parrots and a family of raccoons.
 
Now, due to COVID-19, the park has been unable to welcome visitors for over four months, and the staff is struggling to feed the animals and keep them healthy.

The goal of this campaign is to collect funds to support the Isla Palma and the animals that live there. All donations will go towards keeping the bio-park running in the coming months, so that the animals can remain fed, healthy and protected until travel restrictions are lifted and life returns to normal.

Der Bio-Park „Isla Palma“ ist ein kleines non-profit Naturschutzzentrum für Tierwelt und befindet sich auf einer kleinen Insel in der Karibik, welche zu Kolumbien, Südamerika, gehört.

Durch die aktuelle Covid-19-Pandemie, die hier seit über vier Monaten besteht, gibt es keinerlei Besucher auf der Insel und die Mitarbeiter kämpfen darum, die Tiere des Reservats zu füttern und sich um ihre Gesundheit kümmern zu können.

Das Reservat ist ein Hotspot für die Erhaltung der Karettschildkröte, welche einmal pro Jahr ihre Eier am Strand legt.

Neben den Meeresschildkröten gibt es auf dieser Insel vier Affenarten (Bärenbrüllaffen, Klammeraffen, Totenkopfaffen und die einzigartigen Lisztaffen), eine Waschbärenfamilie, Flamingos und Aras.

Das Ziel dieser Kampagne ist es, Gelder zu sammeln, um dort die Versorgung für die kommenden Zeiten sicherstellen zu können, damit die die Tiere des Reservats ein gesundes Leben führen können, bis sich die Situation wieder etwas normalisiert hat.
