Island Dream Productions Ohana Wildfire Relief

Aloha,

As you have probably heard, Maui and Lahaina Town have suffered tremendous losses due to the wildfires that leveled the town. We are grateful to report all Island Dream Productions employees are safe. Some have lost their homes and all of the contents, but they are safe. Our office at 505 Front Street was leveled, but thankfully no one was inside. We would like to utilize our resources to help raise funds for displaced IDP employees both past and present, and those within our extended family, so they may begin to rebuild their lives. The purpose of this fundraiser is not for our business, it is 100% for our IDP family. As the owner of Island Dream Productions and someone who has been supported through the years by the Lahaina community, it is my duty to give back.

For those who may not be familiar with my background, I grew up in Lahaina. It's the place where I attended high school, learned to surf and dive, and met the most important people in my life. it's where I got my first job taking photos, where I taught surf lessons, and I learned the skills to oversee a surf school. It's where I spent ten years selling leis as a flower girl to gather the funds for starting this business. Essentially, it's where the foundation of IDP was laid. It’s where so many people instrumental in my journey are from, extending employment, fostering belief in my abilities, providing support, and imparting the knowledge I now possess. Lahaina is my home.

Many of the individuals I grew up with have lost everything - their homes, jobs, and in some tragic cases, even their pets and loved ones. Unfortunately, my parent's house burned down, and I was unable to reach them for 24-48 harrowing hours. Thankfully they are okay but the worry for my family and friends has been overwhelming, and over the past few days, I've been doing my best to connect with them and offer my support.

Regrettably, the Lahaina we remember is now gone. However, what remains intact is our spirit of aloha. We're a united family, and that sense of unity is unwavering. To those who have lost everything, please hold onto hope. If there's any place where miracles can happen, it's here - a place where we stand by each other.
